Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our web application, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. We are committed to clear and transparent data‑protection practices. In short, we only collect what we need, use it to provide and improve the service, and we never sell your data. • Account Information

  • Examples: Username (public), email address, hashed password
  • Purpose: Create and secure your account; communicate with you

• User Writing Content

  • Examples: Documents, notes, drafts (encrypted at rest)
  • Purpose: Store your private work; process AI features on demand

• Real‑Time Activity Data

  • Examples: “Active” / typing indicator, pencil‑toggle status
  • Purpose: Show live presence to other users (never reveals text)

• Usage & Analytics Data

  • Examples: IP address, device type, keystroke timestamps, feature clicks
  • Purpose: Improve performance, detect abuse, plan new features

• AI Processing Data

  • Examples: Text you send to OpenAI for corrections or audio generation
  • Purpose: Fulfil AI requests; returned output saved to your account

• Support & Feedback

  • Examples: Emails or messages you send us
  • Purpose: Resolve issues, improve service

Children’s Privacy: The service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their data. Parents may contact us to delete any such information.

User‑Generated Content, Ownership, and Publishing

Ownership remains yours.
Anything you write, upload, or otherwise create in the app (“User Content”) is 100 % owned by you. We claim no copyright or proprietary rights in your work.

License you grant to us (necessary to run the service).
By storing content in the app you grant us a non‑exclusive, worldwide, royalty‑free license to host, encrypt, back‑up, display, and process your content solely to operate the service (including sending text to OpenAI for features you request). This license ends when you delete the content or close your account.

Optional publishing.
If you mark an item as public:

  1. Your username and the published work become visible to anyone visiting the public URL.
  2. You still own the work; you simply grant us an additional license to display and distribute it publicly until you un‑publish or delete it.
  3. You may revoke that license at any time by un‑publishing or deleting the content, after which we remove the public version promptly (subject to caching and backup cycles).

No resale or training.
We will never sell, license, or reuse your User Content outside the service without your explicit permission, nor will we use it to train machine‑learning models.

Your control.
You can export or delete your writings at any time. Deletion removes the content from active storage (see Data Retention).

How We Use Your Information

  1. Provide & personalize the service – authenticate you, save your work, remember preferences.
  2. Real‑time collaboration – display non‑content activity signals (typing/pencil status).
  3. AI features – securely send text to OpenAI, store returned audio or corrected text.
  4. Analytics & improvements – aggregate usage stats, troubleshoot, plan new features.
  5. Security & fraud prevention – monitor logs, detect bots or abuse.
  6. Communications – send essential account emails; optional newsletters/updates (opt‑out anytime).
  7. Legal compliance – respond to lawful requests and enforce terms.

How We Share or Disclose Information

• OpenAI (AI processing)

  • Reason: Process AI requests you initiate
  • Safeguards: Text sent over TLS; OpenAI retains up to 30 days, not used for training

• Email Service Providers (e.g., SendGrid, Mailchimp)

  • Reason: Deliver account and marketing emails
  • Safeguards: Contractually bound to use your email only for our messages

• Analytics & Hosting Providers

  • Reason: Site performance, storage, backups
  • Safeguards: Data encrypted in transit and at rest; strict access controls

• Public Visitors

  • Reason: If you publish content or display live status
  • Safeguards: Only username plus published work or status icon shown

• Legal Authorities

  • Reason: When required by law or to protect rights and safety
  • Safeguards: We notify you when permitted; carefully review each request

• Business Transferees

  • Reason: Merger, acquisition, or asset sale
  • Safeguards: Successor must honor this policy; you will be notified

We never sell your personal information.

  • Hashed & salted passwords

  • Encrypted backups with limited retention

No system is 100 % secure, but we continuously improve our safeguards. In case of a breach, we will notify affected users and authorities as required.

Data Retention

  • Active accounts: We keep data so you can access it.
  • Deleted content: Removed from active databases immediately; purged from backups within ~30 days.
  • AI request logs: Retained by OpenAI up to 30 days, then deleted.
  • Legal/financial records: Kept only as long as statutes require.

Your Rights & Choices

  • Access / Update your info in account settings.
  • Export your writings in a common format.
  • Delete individual items or your whole account (erases encrypted writings).
  • Opt‑out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link.
  • Object / Restrict certain processing where applicable law provides.
  • Complain to your local data‑protection authority if you believe your rights are violated.

Cookies & Tracking

We use first‑party cookies for login sessions, preferences, and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not work.
We do not use third‑party advertising or cross‑site tracking cookies.
